CONWAY, Ark. – After a two-week quarantine that sidelined the William Woods University volleyball team, the Owls returned to the court with a 3-0 win at Central Baptist College. The Owls begin conference play with a 1-0 AMC record and are now 1-1 on the season.
The Owls won 25-21, 25-21, 26-24.
The Owls next face Lyon College for their second conference match-up on Friday, March 12. The 7 p.m. match takes place in Batesville, Ark.

Game Flow
After CBC jumped out to a 6-1 lead, the Owls forced their way back in and evened the score at 11-11. The Owls took a five-point lead coming out of a CBC timeout, 20-15. CBC managed to close the gap to three, but
Hannah Kuehl put down two kills for the final two points of the set, 25-21.
Set two remained even with the lead switching back-and-forth until
Baylie Petry and
Kassidy Phillips put down back-to-back kills to give the Owls a four-point lead, 18-14. CBC brought the game within two, but Petry and
Ally Konarzewski put down two kills to take back a four-point lead, 21-17. A CBC attack error ended the set with a 25-21 win for the Owls.
After a close beginning in set three, CBC jumped ahead and maintained the lead throughout the middle of the set. A kill from
Kate Doerhoff finally evened the score at 21-21. CBC pulled ahead and was one point away from taking set three, but two CBC errors allowed the Owls to come right back into the set, 24-24. After a CBC timeout,
Kate Doerhoff put down a kill to take a one-point lead, 25-24, and
Tori Rosemann then served up the match point ace to end the set with a 26-24 score.
