Game One

WWU came out with their bats on fire, putting together six hits with three extra base hits for five runs in the first inning. Mia Santos led off the game with a double and traded bases with Celeste Sermeno to give the Owls a 1-0 lead. The Owls then loaded the bases for Devyn Burton's base clearing double to center field. Alexis Hassler then singled to bring Burton home for the Owls' fifth run.

The Owls recorded the program's first known triple play in the third inning as Sermeno dove to catch the flyout to left. Runners on first and second thought the ball was down and ran, leaving it easy for Sermeno to throw to Sydney Wilbeck at second who quickly turned for the triple play at first with Ally Mahoney.

Hassler then opened up the bottom of the inning with her second homer of the season over the left field fence to give the Owls a 6-0 lead.

In the top of the fourth, HLG hit a two-run homer to cut the game to 6-2.

Mallory Feldewerth added a seventh run in the bottom half of the inning off Ally Mahoney's RBI single to left field.

After three quick outs in the fifth, the Owls had two singles with two outs in the bottom half. Feldewerth then hit a three-run walk-off home run on a 3-1 count to end the game with the mercy rule, 10-2.

The Owls had 17 hits with four doubles and two home runs. Eight players recorded at least one hit, and Santos, Emma Taylor and Feldewerth each had three hits. Feldewerth also had three runs scored and three RBI.

Hassler (8-6) pitched the complete game win. She allowed just four hits and two runs through the 5.0 innings.

Game Two
HLG got on the board early with a RBI single in the first inning of game two.

In the bottom of the second, the Owls plated two on Katie Gaus' two RBI double to take a 2-1 lead.

The Owls then brought home three in the third to take up a 5-1 lead. With two runners on and one out, Burton hit a RBI double to the left-center field fence, scoring Taylor. Hanna Knipp then RBI singled to bring home Feldewerth. One out later, Taylor Bell hit a RBI double to the left field fence to score Burton.

Neither team scored again in the game, ending with a 5-1 Owls' win.
