BOONVILLE, Mo. – Junior
Jakub Dymecki won the CMU Fall Invite Monday afternoon, helping the William Woods University men's golf team to a second-place finish. The two-round invitational was hosted by Central Methodist University.
Dymecki scored a 138 through the two rounds, shooting four under par in the second round. In the first round, he shot four birdies, 10 pars and four bogeys for an even par. In the second round, he shot an eagle, three birdies, 13 pars and one bogey.
Logan Smith finished second for the Owls, tying for seventh. He shot one under par on the first round, shooting an eagle, three birdies, 10 pars, and four bogeys. He shot six over in round two to finish the day with a 147. He shot two birdies, 10 pars, four bogeys and two double bogeys.
Philipp Heller tied for 11
th with a 149. He shot a 76 on the first round and a 73 on the second round. On the day, he shot an eagle, five birdies, 21 pars, six bogeys and three double bogeys.
The top three Owls, Dymecki, Heller and Winomrat, shot an eagle on hole three's par five.
Pheemawat Winomrat tied for 32
nd with a 163. After shooting an 89 on the first round, he shaved 15 strokes off in the second round for a 74. He finished the day with an eagle, two birdies, 21 pars, six bogeys and six double+ bogeys.
Theo Brown rounded out the Owls top five with a 164, placing 35
th. He shot six over par in the first round and an 87 in the second round. He shot four birdies, 16 pars, 11 bogeys and five double+ bogeys.
The Owls also had four golfers playing as individuals.
Arron Patel placed 20
th with a 153 (71-82).
Shane Brosenne and
Grant Mach tied for 28
th with a 162, and
Evan LaPosha placed 42
nd with a 174 (81-93).
The Owls next play in their first two-day invitational of the season starting on Monday, Sept. 27, at the Missouri Valley Fall Invitational.
