FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University volleyball team was swept by University of Saint Mary Saturday afternoon, 3-0. The Owls fall to 11-5 on the season.
The Owls lost 19-25, 20-25, 15-25.
Next up for the Owls is RV Evangel on the road on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m.

Game Highlights
The Owls started the match with a 3-0 run with a kill from
Hannah Kuehl and an ace from
Blair Busenbark. After a 9-2 Spires' run, the Owls called a timeout. Following a kill from Kuehl, a kill from
Lanie Lowry and an ace from Busenbark, the Owls evened the score at 14, all. USM ended set one with a 6-0 run to win it 5-19.
USM started set two with a 4-1 lead and held an 11-6 lead midway through. Four kills from Kuehl fueled an Owls' 5-0 run to even the score at 12-12. Two USM errors gave the Owls a one-point lead, but USM responded with a 4-0 run to take up a 19-16 lead. A 4-0 run brought USM to set point, and despite two kills from Kuehl, USM ended the set with a 25-20 win.
USM started set three with an 8-1 run to take up an early 10-4 lead. The Owls came out of their timeout and put together a 6-1 run with two blocks, an ace from
Tori Rosemann and two kills from
Lauren Adams and
Kassidy Phillips to bring them within one point, 11-10. USM responded with another 8-1 run to take up a 19-11 lead. The Owls attempted to recover but USM closed out the match with a 4-0 run to win it 25-15.
