FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's soccer team defeated Brescia University Thursday afternoon, 5-1. The Owls improve to 2-1 on the season.
Sydney Balducci netted the first goal from
McKenzie Gourley's cross as the ball rolled off the BU keeper's hand in the 21
st minute.
The Owls' second goal followed a shot from Gourley, and while BU tried to clear it, they pushed it in the net.
Cindy Gonzalez scored the third goal of the half in the 33
rd minute after beating the keeper off

Hannah Loethen netted the fourth goal in the 37
th minute from just outside the box off the cross from Balducci. The Owls went into halftime with a 4-0 lead.
Balducci found the back of the net for the second time in the 55
th minute off

BU scored their first and only goal of the game as their shot soared over the WWU keeper's head from outside the box in the 59
th minute.
Belle Boschert (2-0) grabbed the win in goal. She stopped two shots on goal during her 70 minutes in between the posts.
The Owls next play Ottawa University on their home field at 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 4.
