FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's basketball team's late game comeback attempt fell short as they lost to University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy Tuesday evening, 71-65. The loss snaps the Owls' four-game winning streak and brings them to 9-9 on the season with a 4-1 conference mark.
Darius Yohe posted a double-double in the game.
The Owls continue their home stretch on Thursday, Jan. 13, as they host Central Baptist College at 7:30 p.m.

Game Highlights
The Owls got off to a slow start as UHSP pushed out an early eight-point lead, 10-2.
A layup from
Mike Robinson followed by a down-low bucket from
Makenzie Fessler brought the Owls within four with 7:42 to play, but UHSP went back up and held a tight grip on their lead.
With 2:23 on the clock, UHSP took up an 11-point lead, but the Owls scored the remaining seven points of the half to cut their deficit to four heading into halftime, 33-29.
UHSP continued to possess the lead at the start of the second half and extended their lead to 10 seven minutes in, 45-35.
Darius Yohe hit a jumper in the paint with nine minutes to play. He followed with two free throws, and
Spencer Yoggerst hit a fast break layup to cut the game to three with 10:02 left to play, 48-45.
The Owls then struck a 7-0 run with five points from
Nathan Schwartze and two from Fessler to take their first lead of the game with 5:26 to go, 52-51.
UHSP took back the lead, but the Owls evened the score thrice. With 3:24 to play, UHSP took hold of the lead for the last time, 61-59. The Owls kept the game a two-possession game but were unable to even the score again. Having to resort to fouling to stop the clock, the Owls allowed UHSP to go up by seven with 14 seconds on the clock, 70-63.
Andrew Nett hit the final jumper for the Owls, ending the game with a 71-65 loss.
