FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's soccer team topped Lyon College Tuesday afternoon in a rainy 2-1 win. The Owls improve to 3-8-3 on the season and grab their first AMC win.
Omar Ariel Murillo Hernandez started the scoring with a goal off
Nicolas Martinez's corner kick to give the Owls a 1-0 lead in the 55
th minute.
David Fink put the Owls up 2-0 in the 72
nd minute from
Lubos Polacko's assist.
Lyon scored a goal just two minutes later to bring the game to 2-1.
The Owls defense buckled down and held off Lyon in the final time to grab the win.
Iker Gonzalez made five saves in goal for the win.
The Owls host RV Missouri Baptist on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 3:30 p.m. The team will honor their five seniors prior to the match.
