MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa – The William Woods University men's basketball team dropped a close game to Iowa Wesleyan University for their first loss of the season. The 62-57 loss brings the Owls to 1-1 on the season.
The Owls continue their eight-game road stretch with a 6 p.m. tip-off at Graceland University (Iowa) on Friday, Nov. 4.

How It Happened
After a back-and-forth beginning to the game, a dunk by
Darius Yohe started a five-minute stretch where the Owls held the lead.
The teams traded the lead four times before a tip-in from
Abdulh Diaby started a 6-0 run to put the Owls up by five with 5:48 to play in the first half, 20-15.
An 8-2 IWU run ended the half with the Owls trailing by one, 26-25.
Halfway through the second half, IWU put up a nine-point lead over the Owls, 44-35.
With 4:39 left in the game, the Owls finally evened the score following a three-point play by
Spencer Yoggerst, 49-49.
IWU took back the lead, and the Owls were never able to close the gap again.
