LAMONI, Iowa – The William Woods University men's basketball team dropped to Graceland University Friday evening, 70-59.
The Owls continue their road stretch with a game at Clarke University on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.

How It Happened
Back-to-back layups from
Grant Peters finished out the Owls' 8-0 run to give the team an 11-3 advantage over GU five minutes in. GU cut the game to three twice, but a three from
Nathan Schwartze and a three from
Fred Robinson gave the Owls a nine-point lead, 20-11.
With 6: 16 on the clock, GU managed to cut the game to one, 23-22.
A 9-0 Owls' run over the next four minutes gave the Owls a 10-point lead, 32-22, but GU closed out the half with an 8-0 run. The Owls headed into halftime with a two-point lead, 32-30.
GU hit a three to start the half and take their first lead of the game.
The Owls quickly answered to go back in the lead, but the possession changed three times over the next four minutes. Back-to-back layups from Peters put the Owls back on top, and a layup from F. Robinson gave the Owls a five-point lead just over five minutes into the second half, 44-39.
The lead changed a few more times, but GU managed to take an 11-point lead with under four minutes to play, 63-52.
A three from Schwartze followed up a layup cut the game to six, but GU closed out the game with a 7-2 run, 70-59.
