FULTON, Mo. – The Owls pushed No. 14 Columbia into four sets, taking set three and almost taking set one Thursday evening. The 3-1 loss snaps the Owls' 6-0 conference win streak and brings them to 7-2 in conference play. On the season, the Owls sit at 13-16.
The Owls lost 26-24, 25-13, 22-25, 25-18.
The team closes out their regular season at home on Saturday with an 11 a.m. match versus Stephens College. The Owls will honor their three seniors prior to the match.

How It Happened
The Owls quickly jumped out to a 7-2 lead to start the match after a 4-0 run. An ace from
Lauren Hiestand doubled CC's lead, 12-6, but CC answered with a 6-0 rally to even the score. The lead bounced around but the Owls pulled ahead. A kill from
Reanna Dodge and a bad set by CC brought the Owls to set point, but CC scored five straight to grab the set win in extra points, 26-24.
CC used multiple long runs to shut down the Owls in set two, 25-13.
A 5-0 Owls' run early on in set three put the Owls up 10-7. A 3-0 run later in the set gave the Owls a five-point lead, 19-14, and a kill from Emma Austin closed the deal with a 25-22 set win.
CC jumped out to a 10-5 lead in set four, but a 3-0 Owls' run closed the gap to one, 14-13. The Owls weren't quite able to even the score, and CC finished the match with a 7-2 run.
