FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's basketball team recorded their fifth straight win with Saturday's 63-48 victory over Hannibal-LaGrange University. The Owls improve to 6-4 on the season with a 2-1 conference mark.

The Owls host Baptist Bible College on Saturday, Dec. 10, for a non-conference match up starting at 1:30 p.m.

Spencer Yoggerst each scored a team-high 11 points.

Grant Peters each added 10 points to the win.

The Owls instantly jumped on HLG with
Nathan Schwartze hitting back-to-back threes in the first minute. They continued on a 16-point run over the first five minutes to take a 16-0 lead.
HLG turned it around, and with an 11-2 run, they cut the game to six with 6:28 left in the game, 28-22. After a jumper from
Grant Peters broke up their run, HLG went on for six more to cut the game to two with five minutes to play, 28-26.
Spencer Yoggerst hit back-to-back jumpers, and
Jared Crutcher followed with an in-the-paint bucket to push their lead back to eight with a minute to play, 34-26. HLG scored the final points of the half though to send the Owls into halftime with a six-point lead, 34-28.
The Owls kicked off the second half with a 10-2 run to take a 14-point lead just under five minutes in, 44-30.
Fred Robinson scored six straight to advance the Owls' lead to 18 with 12:09 on the clock, 50-32. A three from Yoggerst put the Owls' lead at 19 with 7:13 to go.
HLG cut the game to 13 with four minutes to play, but the Owls continued to hold a steady double digit lead, ending with a 63-48 win.
