FULTON, Mo. – Two gameday records fell for William Woods University men's basketball in Saturday's tight win over reigning NCCAA National Champions Baptist Bible College. The Owls narrowly won 58-55 for their sixth consecutive win.
The Owls smashed the gameday blocks record, recording 15 to break the almost 13-year-old record.
Darius Yohe outdid his previous record for blocks, posting nine in the win with six coming in the second half alone.
The Owls improve to 7-4 on the season.

The Owls jump back to conference play next Saturday, Dec. 17, with a road game at Central Baptist College. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m.

Darius Yohe. This set a new gameday record.

Darius Yohe outdid his previous gameday blocks record from 2020 with nine in today's game. He also recorded nine points to finish just shy of a triple-double.
Nathan Schwartze also recorded nine points.

After a back-and-forth beginning to the game, BBC pulled up a seven-point lead, 13-6.
A 5-0 Owls' run cut the game to three, and a layup from
Abdulh Diaby gave the team a one-point lead with 7:45 on the clock, 17-16. BBC went back up, and despite the Owls' best efforts, they could not go back in the lead this half. BBC held a 30-26 lead heading into halftime.
After six minutes of play into the second half, the Owls pushed a 5-0 run to take a two-point lead, 37-35. BBC evened the score on the next play, but the Owls responded with an 8-0 run to take their largest lead of the game, 45-37.
The Owls maintained the lead, but with 4:24 on the clock, BBC cut the game to one, 52-51.
A layup from
Darius Yohe put the Owls up by three, and two good free throws from Yohe with 1:53 to play gave the Owls a five-point lead, 56-51.
BBC again cut the lead to one with 25 seconds on the clock.
Fred Robinson hit both free throws following a foul to give the Owls a three-point lead with 20 seconds to go, 58-55. The Owls were able to hold BBC from tying up the game in the final seconds to win in.
