Baseball Fall to Friends

WICHITA, Kan. – The William Woods University baseball team fell to Friends university Saturday afternoon to complete the three-game weekend series with a 3-2 loss. The Owls are now 0-3 on the season.
 
They were supposed to play two games today but due to freezing temperatures, they only played one nine inning game.
 
The Owls will return to action at the NAIA Preview Tournament in Joplin, Mo. against Roosevelt University on Friday, February 18 at 2:30 p.m.
 
The falcons jumped on the board first as they took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning.
 
In the sixth inning, the Owls plated two runs. Bryson Matthews hit a RBI double to center field to score Jack Niggemeier. Matthews then scored on Easton Wallace's double to center field.
 
The Owls outhit the falcons, 7-6.
 
Easton Wallace recorded two hits and one RBI. Matthews had one hit, one RBI and one run scored.
 
Ryan Long (0-1) started on the mound and was credited with the loss. He pitched 4.0 innings and struck nine while allowing four hits and three runs.
