Booker Records Fifth Double-Double of the Season on Today’s Loss Against Lyon

BATESVILLE, Ar. – Freshman Sydney Booker recorded her fifth double-double of the season on today's loss versus Lyon College, 66-56. The loss drops the Owls to 9-17 overall and 6-10 in conference play.
 
The Owls will host Missouri Baptist on Thursday, Feb. 17. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.

17 – Sydney Booker led the Owls with 17 points going 6-for-16 from the field and 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. 
16 – Natalie Thomas scored 16 points going 6-for-10 from the field.
11 – Sydney Booker pulled down 11 boards with six coming from the offensive end to post her fifth double-double of the season.
8 – Kasey Hazell pulled down eight boards. 
6 – Katie Keilholz, Kasey Hazell and Olivia Hanks scored six points each.
 
Game Highlights
The Owls started off with a 7-2 run in the beginning of the game with five points coming from Sydney Booker and 6:49 left on the first quarter. Lyon quickly tied the game but the Owls responded with a jumper from Natalie Thomas to grab the lead once again, 9-7. Booker scored the next four points for the Owls but they ended the quarter trailing by six, 19-13.
 
Kasey Hazell started the second quarter with a layup for the Owls but Lyon answered with an eight-point lead 25-17 with 6:42 left. Two threes by Thomas and one from Katie Keilholz tied the game 26-26 with 4:37 left. Jheda Kennedy stole the ball passing to Thomas who scored a layup in the paint to grab the lead once again, 30-28. Lyon responded with a field goal to end the second quarter with the game tied 30-30. The Owls outscored Lyon 17-11 on the second quarter.
 
Lyon had a 9-2 run in the first five minutes of the third quarter. Booker hit a layup in the paint assisted by Keilholz with 14 seconds left but Lyon answered with a three-pointer to take 13-point lead to the final quarter, 51-38.
 
Lyon put up a 21-point lead with a 15-8 run in the fourth quarter, 66-45. The Owls had a 11-0 run with a jumper from Booker and threes from Kiyana Rodgers, Olivia Hanks and Keilholz to end the game with a 66-56 loss.
