Katie French hits the NAIA "A" Standard in the shot put and weight throw Friday evening at the Monmouth Fighting Scots Indoor hosted by Monmouth College.

Next for the Owls is the AMC Indoor Championships on Saturday, Feb. 19 in Elsah, Ill. hosted by Principia College.
French's 13.84-meter toss in the shot put improves her own first-place spot in the WWU Record Book by one centimeter, recording a new personal best and hitting the NAIA "A" Standard. She placed first out of 25 athletes. She also hit the NAIA "A" Standard in the weight throw and achieved a new PR. She also placed first with a 16.27-meter throw.
French will compete at the 57th Annual Indoor Track & Field National Championship on March 3-5 in Brookings, S.D.
Susan Moman finished in 21
st place in the shot put with a 9.42-meter toss.
In the long Jump,
Nia Hawkins finished in first place with a 5.13-meter jump. In the triple jump, she recorded a new personal best with a 10.11-meter jump that placed her second. She also competed in the 200-meter dash placing 12
th with a time of 28.92.
In the 800-meter run,
Ellie Dimond placed fifth with a time of 2:38.42.
Emma Clifford placed eight with a 2:43.14 time.
In the 1-mile run,
Harley Nale finished in third with a 5:41.22 time. Coming right behind her in fourth place was
Mekayla Gibson, who hit a new PR with a time of 5:43.20.
Maddie Mendell placed sixth with a time of 6:21.62.
In the 3000-meter run,
Alicia Engelbrecht not only grabbed first place but she also recorded a new personal best with a 10:50.58 time. Coming right behind her in second place was
Mary Grover, who crossed the finish line with a time of 11:39.32.
Faith Gerling placed fourth with a 12:01.77 time that was a new PR for her.
Kimi Putnam finished eighth with a time of 12:54.94.
Competing in the 400-meter dash was
Kristan Wilson who finished in eighth place with a time of 1:07.52. She also competed in the 200-meter dash, placing 19
th and hitting a new PR with a time of 29.69.
The Owls had two teams competing in the Distance Medley. The first team was comprised of
