SAN ANTONIO-Texas. – The William Woods University softball team dropped a pair of games today in a doubleheader against Texas A&M University-San Antonio. The Owls took a 10-7 loss on the first game and a 6-0 loss on the second game. The losses drop the team to 1-5 on the season.
 
The Owls will travel next to No. 7 Ottawa University on Saturday, Feb. 26 for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
 
"Celeste Sermeno had another outstanding day at the plate with confidence, focused at-bats," said head coach Tracy Gastineau.
 
Game One
The Owls fell 10-7 on game one.

• Emma Taylor had one hit and two runs.
• Mia Santos added two hits, two runs, and one RBI.
• Celeste Sermeno had three hits, one run, and two RBIs.
• Ally Mahoney had one hit and two RBIs.
• Taylor Bell and Arianna Donovan had one hit and one run.

Ashlyn Towery (0-1) took the loss on the mound. She pitched 3.1 innings and struck out two while allowing three hits and five runs.
 
Jessica Keilholz pitched 2.2 innings and allowed four hits and five runs.
 
Game Two
The Owls fell 6-0 on the second game.

• Mia Santos, Ally Mahoney, and Kristen Mogan each had one hit.
• Celeste Sermeno recorded two hits.

Sarah Randermann (1-2) started on the mound and grabbed the loss. She struck out nine and allowed only three unearned runs.
