OTTAWA, Kan. – The William Woods University softball team split the doubleheader against No. 7 Ottawa University. The Owls fell on game one 10-3 but ended up victorious on game two with a 5-3 win. The team improved to 2-6 on the season.
The Owls return to action at University of Saint Mary (Kan.) on Wednesday, Mar. 2 for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
Game One
The Owls fell to Ottawa on game one, 10-3.
- Celeste Sermeno was 1 for 3 at the plate. She scored one run.
- Arianna Donovan was 1 for 2 at the plate. She also scored one run.
- Kristen Mogan was 2 for 3 at the plate. She had one run and three RBIs.
- Kalee Wall was credited with the loss on the mound. She pitched 5.1 innings and allowed nine hits and 10 runs while struck out two.
Game Two
The Owls won 5-3 over Ottawa on game two.
- Sarah Randermann was credited with the win on the mound. She pitched 7.0 innings. She struck out nine while allowing three hits and three runs
