FULTON, Mo. – Senior
Makenzie Fessler broke the school record of most field goals made in a single season this evening at the AMC Championships Quarterfinals. The number-three seed William Woods University men's basketball team defeated University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy, 76-60. The Owls improve to 18-13.
The Owls will travel to the number-two seed Columbia College on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. in the AMC Championships semifinals.

Darius Yohe led the floor with 18 points going 7-for-9 from the field and 4-for-7 from the foul line. He also pulled down nine boards with four coming from the offensive end.

Nathan Schwartze recorded 12 points (4-6 FG, 2-3 3PT, 2-2 FT).

Makenzie Fessler scored five FG out a total of 11 points to break the WWU Record of most field goals made in a single season. He also added nine rebounds and five assists.

Spencer Yoggerst and
Jared Crutcher each added eight points.
Game Highlights
The lead bounced back-and-forth during most part of the first half until a layup from
Darius Yohe gave the Owls a 19-15 lead. A bucket from
Makenzie Fessler increased to 27-22.
Dylan Pitt drained a three-pointer to extend the lead to six but UHSP hit a three back before going to halftime.
The Owls went into halftime leading, 30-27.
UHSP started the second half with two free-throws to trail by one but Fessler responded with a three from
Nathan Schwartze, 33-29. The Owls hit back-to-back threes with
Andrew Nett and
Mike Robinson to lead by 12, 50-38. The Owls ignited a 20-10 run to maintain the lead 70-48. A jumper from
Mahmadou Ngoucheme gave the Owls a 20-point lead and their last points of the game, 76-56. UHSP scored two more points but the Owls earned a 76-60 victory to advance to the AMC Championships Semifinals.
