KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The No. 16 William Woods University women's tennis team defeated McPherson College this afternoon, 6-1. The Owls improve to 2-4 on the season.
The Owls return to action on Tuesday, Mar. 1 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. versus NCAA Division I, Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO.
The team grabbed the doubles point after winning in No. 1 and No. 2 courts
In No. 1 doubles,
Ana Zavala and
Rukshika Wijesooriya defeated Ortiz and Khoroshevskay, 6-2.
Hanna Lindeboom and
Marta Calvo Larraz earned a 6-2 victory over Erica Paradise and Mundo, in No. 2 doubles.
In singles, the Owls were victorious in the No. 1, No. 2, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 spots.
In No. 1 singles, Zavala defeated Khoroshevskay 6-4, 6-1. Wijesooriya took a 6-2, 6-0 win over Paradise, In No. 2 singles. Lindeboom took down Mundo in the No. 4 spot with a 6-3, 6-2 victory. In No. 5 singles,
Lilla Komiszar grabbed a 6-0, 6-2 win over Ortiz. Hanna Meyer defeated Maples in the No. 6 spot, 6-3, 6-2.
