CANTON, Mo. – The William Woods University softball team fell to Culver-Stockton College (Mo.) Thursday afternoon. The Owls fell 3-2 on game one and then the Owls took a 4-1 loss on game two. The team moves to 11-10 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
 
"We had two good pitching performances today but didn't take care of the ball like we need to," said Head Coach Tracy Gastineau.

The Owls travel next to Lincoln College on Sunday, Mar. 20 for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
 
Game One
The Owls fell to Culver-Stockton, 3-2.

• Emma Taylor went 1 for 2. She scored one run.
• Celeste Sermeno went 1 for 3. She scored one run, hit a homer, and recorded two RBIs.
• Devyn Burton went 1 for 3. 

Sarah Randermann took the loss on the mound. She pitched 6.0 innings and struck out five while allowing nine hits and three runs.
 
Game Two
The Owls took a 4-1 loss to Culver-Stockton.

• Emma Taylor scored one run.
• Celeste Sermeno went 1 for 3 and recorded one RBI.
• Devyn Burton and Mallory Feldewerth each went 1 for 3.

Kalee Wall was credited with the loss on the mound. She pitched 6.0 innings and struck out two. She allowed nine hits and four runs.
