GULF SHORES, Ala. – The William Woods University softball team concluded their participation at the Gulf Coast Invitational this afternoon with two games. The Owls fell on game one against No. 20 Morningside College (Iowa) 18-6, and grabbed a win against Faulkner University (Ala.), 3-1. The team moves to 6-7 on the season.

The Owls return to action on Tuesday, Mar. 8 in Mobile, Alabama against Thomas More at 1 p.m. and then against RV University of Mobile at 3:30 p.m.
 
Game One
The Owls fell 18-6 against No. 20 Morningside.

• Mallory Feldewerth went 2 for 4. She scored one run and recorded one two RBIs.
• Celeste Sermeno, Katie Gaus, and Emma Taylor each scored one run.
• Arianna Donovan went 1 for 2. She scored one run and had one RBI.
• Devyn Burton scored one run and had one RBI.
• Jessica Keilholz had one RBI.
• Kalee Wall pitched 1.0 innings. She struck out one while allowing six hits and six runs.
• Jessica Keilholz pitched 3.0 innings. She struck out one while allowing six hits and seven runs.

Alexis Hassler was credited with the loss on the mound. She struck out two while allowing four hits and five runs.
 
Game Two
The Owls defeated Faulkner, 3-1.

• Emma Taylor went 1 for 4 and recorded one RBI.
• Celeste Sermeno and Devyn Burton each scored one run.
• Ally Mahoney went 2 for 3 and had one RBI.
• Mallory Feldewerth scored one run and had one RBI. 

Sarah Randermann (5-2) was credited with the win on the mound. She pitched 7.0 innings and struck out two while allowing seven hits and one run.
