KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The William Woods University women's track and field team had four first place finishes, an NAIA "B" standard and eight top-five finishes at the Truman State Twilight Thursday afternoon. Katie French finished with three first-place finishes and a NAIA "B" Standard in the shot put, and Alicia Engelbrecht finished with one first-place finish.
 
Next up for the Owls is the AMC Championships on May 6-7 hosted by Missouri Baptist University.
 
Throws
Katie French won the shot put, beating out 16 others with a 13.13-meter throw, hitting an NAIA "B" Standard. Elisabeth Sistrunk threw 8.50-meters in her first time competing in the event.
 
French PR'd in the hammer throw as he grabbed a first-place finish with her 46.79-meter toss. She also won the discus throw, beating out 18 others with a 41.43-meter throw. Susan Moman placed ninth with a PR of 32.73. Elisabeth Sistrunk placed 13^th with a 30.93-meter throw.
 
Natalie Thomas placed second in the javelin out of 17 with her 38.38-meter javelin. Susan Moman marked herself fifth in the record book with a 34.79-meter seventh-place finish, and Alexis Clifford set a new PR with her 33.48-meter throw.
 
Running
The Owls were the only ones to compete in the 3000-meter run. Alicia Engelbrecht took first place in her first time running the 3K in an outdoor season. Her 10:54.34 time marked her fourth in the WWU record book. Mary Grover placed second with a 12:03.41 time, and Kimi Putnam rounded out the event with a 12:56.35 time.
 
Emma Clifford set a new PR in the 800-meter run with her 2:42.11 10^th place finish. She also placed eighth in the 400-meter dash with a 1:07.50 time.
 
Camille Schroeder placed 16^th in the 200-meter dash (30.78).

Jumps
Schroeder placed fifth with a 9.02-meter jump in her first time competing in the triple jump. She placed sixth in the long jump with a 4.58-meter jump.
