FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's soccer team wins third consecutive with today's victory over Iowa Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon. The team improves to 3-4-1.
With 15 minutes on the clock,
Lauren Helmert scored the first goal of the day off a penalty kick after a handball inside the box.
The Owls went into halftime with the lead, 1-0.
Sydney Balducci found the back of the net on a header assisted by Helmert from a corner kick to extend their lead to 2-0.
The Tigers scored their only goal with less than one minute before end of regulation.
The Owls took a 2-1 win.
Michyla Handley took the win on the goal. She played 90 minutes in between posts and recorded two saves.
The Owls outshot the Tigers, 20-7.
The Owls host Oakland City next on Tuesday, Sep. 20 at 6 p.m.
