FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's soccer team fell to Oakland City University Tuesday evening, 2-1. The team drops to 3-5-1 on the season.
With 41:15 on the clock, Oakland City scored the first goal of the game. The Owls went into halftime trailing 1-0.
Lauren Helmert found the back of the net assisted by
Sam Poehlmann to tie the game, 1-1, with the clock hitting the 68
th mark.
Oakland City scored their second goal of the day off a free kick to take the lead of the game once again, 2-1.
Michyla Handley was credited with the loss on the goal. She played 90 minutes in between posts and made eight stops with five coming from the first period.
The Owls outshot Oakland City, 16-14.
The Owls travel next to No. 12 John Brown on Saturday, Sept. 24. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
