HANNIBAL, Mo. – The William Woods University men's soccer team fell to Hannibal-LaGrange Saturday afternoon, 5-3. The team drops to 1-5-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
With 20 minutes on the clock, HLGU scored their first goal of the day to take the lead of the game. However, less than a minute later
Lubos Polacko responded with a goal for the Owls to tie the game, 1-1.
Florian Senst found the back of the net to grab the lead for the Owls. The Owls went into halftime leading 2-1.
HLGU scored four more goals during the second period while the Owls were only able to score once more with Omar Murillo.
Iker Gonzalez took the loss on goal and recorded five saves.
HLGU outshot the Owls, 22-15.
The Owls travel next to Conway, Arkansas to take on Central Baptist on Saturday, Oct. 1. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
