CONWAY, Ark. – The William Woods University volleyball team swept Central Baptist College for their second conference win Friday evening. The 3-0 win brings the Owls to 2-1 in American Midwest Conference play and puts them at 5-11 overall.
The Owls won 25-11, 25-22, 25-20.
The team has an extremely short turnaround as they face Lyon College on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m.

How It Happened
The Owls opened the match with an 11-4 run. After a CBC timeout and point, the Owls blasted a 7-0 run to put up an 18-5 lead. CBC scored four in a row to hold the Owls at set point, but a kill from
Riley Alton ended the set with a 25-11 win.
The Owls continued their momentum at the start of set two, jumping out to a 6-1 lead. CBC managed to close the gap and actually pull in the lead midway through, 15-14. After two lockups, two CBC errors, a block and a
Lauren Hiestand ace put the Owls up by four, 22-18. A kill from
Reanna Dodge ended the set, 25-22.
Set three's beginning looked similar to set two, but a 4-1 Owls' run gave them a five-point boost, 16-11. A 4-0 CBC run late in the set closed the gap to three points, but the Owls pulled out the win, 25-20.
