OTTAWA, Kan. - The William Woods University women's soccer team tied with Ottawa University 2-2 Wednesday afternoon. The team moves to 0-4-1 on the season.
The Owls started off aggressive as Abby Prather-Turner fired off the first shot on goal by either teams but Ottawa's goalie was there to make the stop.
With 12 minutes on the clock, Sydney Balducci scored the first goal of the game assisted by Prather-Turner, 1-0.
Three minutes later, Ottawa quickly answered with a goal to tie the game, 1-1.
After two unsuccessful attempts from the Owls, Ottawa took the lead 2-1 with the clock hitting the 36th minute mark.
The Owls went into halftime trailing Ottawa, 2-1.
The Owls started the second period aggressive once again with five shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net. However, their sixth attempt was successful as Prather-Turner passed the ball to Cindy Gonzalez who scored for the Owls, 2-2.
Ottawa outshot the Owls, 14-9.
Belle Boschert played 90 minutes in between posts. She made 12 stops with right coming from the second period.
Next for the Owls is a home game versus NCAA Division III University of the Ozarks on Saturday, Sep. 10 at 1 p.m.
