Fulton, Mo. – The William Woods University men's basketball squeaked out a home win against AMC-rival Columbia College on Saturday afternoon in front of a sold out crowd. WWU defeated the Cougars 66-65.
The Owls improve to 13-11 overall and 7-7 in the AMC.

The Owls got things started as
Abdulh Diaby scored just over a minute in. The Cougars would score the next seven points, before
Fred Robinson ended the run with a field goal. The rest of the half was back-and-forth as William Woods held the largest lead of five points at a couple of different times including the halftime score, 35-30.
The Cougars came out and scored the first seven points of the second half and led 37-35 with 18:32 left. The Owls responded well and led by 14 (57-43) after a
Nathan Schwartze triple with 11:11 left. CC started chipping away and closed the gap to one-point with 19-seconds left. After a WWU turnover gave the ball to the Cougars with three seconds left, the Owls defense stiffened up and did not allow a shot at the buzzer and walked away with the 66-65 win.

The Owls host AMC-rival Columbia College on Saturday, Feb. 11. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
