Dimond Qualifies for Finals in 3000m Steeplechase, Four Compete at Day One of NAIA National Championships

MARION, Ind. – The William Woods University women's track and field team had four compete in two events at day one of the NAIA National Championships. Ellie Dimond and Harley Nale competed in the 3000-meter steeplechase, and Ellie Emerson and Natalie Thomas competed in the javelin. 

Ellie Dimond placed ninth in the 3000m steeplechase with a 10:58.69 time, qualifying for the finals. Finals take place on Friday, May 26, at 12 p.m. CST. Harley Nale placed 18th with an 11:17.41 time.
 
In javelin, Ellie Emerson placed 10th with a 41.24-meter throw. She threw her best on her first throw. Natalie Thomas placed 19th with a 39.25-meter throw. She hit the mark on her final throw.

Katie French competes in the shot put on day two of the NAIA National Championships. Her event starts at 1:30 p.m. CST.
