Women's Bowling Accepts Invitation To 55th Annual Hoosier Classic

FULTON, Mo. - On the strength of its appearance in the NAIA's top 25 for the first RPI release, William Woods University women's bowling earned a berth in the 55th Annual Columbia 300 Hoosier Classic, hosted Feb. 10-11 at the Royal Pin - Western Lanes in Indianapolis. In accepting the invitation to the Hoosier Classic, the women's team will not compete in the Kohawk Invite hosted by Coe College.

"I am excited for the opportunity for our team to compete in the most prestigious regular season tournament in collegiate bowling," said head coach Bill Holbrook. "Having another chance to compete against top tier opposition ahead of our conference tournament is invaluable."

In addition to the women's team competing in the Hoosier Classic, WWU will also be making additional changes to the schedule for both the men's and women's teams following a weather-related cancellation. With travel issues preventing the Owls from competing in the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic last weekend, Woods has shifted competition to a pair of one-day tournaments.

The Owls will bowl in the 2024 MSC Lynne Jordan Memorial on Jan. 20, and the 2024 MSC Thomas Burris Memorial on Jan. 21. Both tournaments will take place in Louisville, Ky., with the men bowling at Kingpin Lanes and the women competing at Executive Strike & Spare. Both tournaments will consist of five team games and 12 Baker games.

Woods has also dropped the Eagle Invitational on Jan. 27 and 28 from the competition calendar as a result.
