LAMONI, Iowa - Whit Nichols (157 pounds) won his second straight bout for William Woods University (1-6), as the Owls fell 50-6 in their dual at future conference opponent No. 25 Graceland University (4-0) Tuesday at Morden Center.

"Another night of learning going against another top 25 team," William Woods men's wrestling coach Jacob Lorentz said. "We make no excuses; we are better in the long run for wrestling these teams. I know it may sound like a broken record, but we need to see top-notch programs to become one. We are on our way, just need to keep working, get healthy and over the sickness bug. I'm proud of our guys."

Nichols' pinfall victory over the Yellowjackets' Brayden Phillips accounted for all six of the Owls' points.

Following the holiday break, William Woods has one more dual to conclude the 2024 portion of its schedule, hosting crosstown NCAA Division III Westminster College (0-2) at 6 p.m. Dec. 10 at Anderson Arena in Fulton.
