FULTON, Mo. - In the final competition before conference tournament action, Owls Men's Wrestling faced Heart Conference opponent Missouri Valley in Anderson Arena. Nine matches commenced, and William Woods came out on top for two, resulting in a 41-6 loss to the Vikings.

William Woods faced difficulties from the first bout, dropping matches in the first six weights of the night. However, energy entered the arena at the start of the 174-pound bout, when Elijah Brocksmith found himself in a grueling contest. After three rounds of physical exertion and mind games, Brocksmith was up 9-5, winning by decision and earning the first 3 points for the Owls.

The following contest had a similarly hard-fought and well-earned result. Austen Wetzel went all three against a tough opponent, forcing a take down late in the third round to put him up 10-5 and granting him a win by decision.

The Owls are set to prepare for the Heart of America Conference tournament beginning Friday, Feb. 20 in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
