PARKVILLE, Mo. – William Woods Men's Soccer (5-6-2, 2-5-3 Heart) rallied late in the game for a win over former AMC opponent, and now Heart of America opponent, Park University (5-7-2, 5-3-2 Heart) by a 2-1 scoreline Saturday evening.
After falling behind early, the Owls clawed back through Marlon Swaby's first-half equalizer before Miles Andrews delivered the game-winner in the 88th minute, sealing a crucial road win for The Woods.
Park struck first in the 18th minute when Luka Andonovski found the net off an assist from Matias Aravena. The Owls responded just nine minutes later as Swaby slotted home his second goal of the season to bring the match level at 1–1.
From there, William Woods controlled the tempo, outshooting Park 18–14 while generating eight shots on target. The defensive line, anchored by senior Josh Seyer and junior Simone Morona, stood firm against multiple set pieces, with goalkeeper Matthew Dworak collecting six saves on the day.
As time dwindled, Woods continued to press forward. Their persistence paid off when Andrews broke through with the decisive goal in the 88th minute—his second of the season—clinching a hard-fought 2–1 victory.
The Owls continue their Heart of America Conference slate as they travel to Canton, Mo., to take on the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats next Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
