OLATHE, Kan. - William Woods (2-11-2, 1-9-2 Heart) continued their Heart of America Conference schedule at MidAmerica Nazarene (11-2-2, 9-1-2 Heart) on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls, kept scoreless, surrendered four goals in the contest to drop their third straight.
The Pioneers tallied three first half goals, rattling off 15 shots in the direction of the keep in the first 45 minutes of play. Both shots from the Owls in the half were saved by the keeper. The Woods' netminder was able to save four shots on goal, to keep the MNU lead at three heading into the half.
The second half of the game kept a slower pace with MNU scoring the lone goal in the period coming in the 67th minute of play. The Owls had a chance to counter in the 74th minute when freshman Braelyn Hannigan delivered a striking blow, but the shot was sent away by the Pioneers' goalkeeper.
Woods will wrap up their season on Saturday at the NCAC. The senior day kickoff is set for 3 p.m. against Benedictine.
