FULTON, Mo.- William Woods women's soccer (2-12-2, 1-10-2 Heart) hosted their final contest of the season against Benedictine (12-4-2, 8-3-2 Heart) at the NCAC on Saturday afternoon.
Woods, who struggled in the match offensively, recorded five shots in the contest with only three being on target. Freshman forward Laura de Vries saw the best chance to score for the Owls in the 29th minute. Her first shot was saved by the keeper, but deflected directly back to her. As she attempted to shoot the ball around the outstretched keeper, her shot deflected off the post and went out of play. William Woods was kept off the scoreboard
The Ravens rattled off 26 total shots in 90 minutes of play, with 16 being on net. Benedictine tallied six total goals, three tally marks in each frame, and seven corner kicks in the contest. Woods' keepers split time between the posts with Sierra Hahn and Zoe Hargis earning nine saves.
With this loss, Woods ends their first season in the Heart of America Athletic Complex and their first under the direction of Tommy Nienhaus.
