ST. LOUIS - Picking up the honor for the third time, William Woods University's Sydney Booker was named American Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, announced the conference Monday. Williams Baptist University's Carmen Taylor, offensive player of the week, was paired with Booker as an AMC women's basketball player of the week selection for Week 17 (Feb. 17-23).

A committee of athletic communications professionals selected the weekly award winners throughout the conference from a pool of nominees submitted by each school.

Booker, a senior from Steelville, averaged 14 points, 12½ rebounds and ½ steal per game over two games. On her Senior Night, Booker posted her ninth double-double of the season against Missouri Baptist University with 20 points and 16 rebounds.
