KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the eighth straight season, No. 18 William Woods University men's tennis earned an NAIA All-American honor.
Noah Burton was named to the third team, announced the association Friday.
Ranked 59th in the latest ITA NAIA men's tennis singles rankings, Burton posted a 17-9 record in singles and 14-16 in doubles in his last collegiate tennis campaign.
On top of his prestigious All-American accolade, Burton picked up Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Tennis co-Newcomer of the Year, second-team All-Heart and Heart Men's Tennis Player of the Week for Week 5 (March 24-30) in his first and only decorated season as an Owl.
Burton helped the Owls to a successful year, going 14-9 overall and 4-0 in the Heart while beating archrival, then-(RV) Missouri Baptist University 4-3 to win the first-ever Heart Men's Tennis Championship.
The NAIA All-America Selection Committee selected the honorees. Sixteen student-athletes were chosen to comprise the first and second teams. The third team is comprised of 20 student-athletes.
