COLUMBIA, Mo.- Coming off a fifth-place finish at the Spire Sunset Showdown hosted by the University of Saint Mary (Kan.), the William Woods Men's Cross Country team traveled to Columbia to compete in the Larry Young Invitational hosted by Columbia College.  

The Owls finished in seventh place as a team in the event held at Gans Creek Cross Country Course, the site of the NAIA National Championships just a season ago.  

William Woods was led by Sean Wigger, the freshman from Villa Ridge, Mo., put up a 27:53.55 time in the race. Sophomore Justus Yates finished second for the Owls posting a time of 28:04.77. Rounding out the top three finishers from The Woods, Gabriel Soest crossed the line at 31:14.36 finishing 88th.
