Fulton, MO – In a Saturday Showdown, The William Woods Owls (10-3, 3-1 HAAC) and the Clarke Pride (2-11, 0-3 HAAC) faced off in mid-day volleyball action.
This match was all Owls early as they had to bounce back from an early 4-1 deficit as the Price came out firing in the first set. Then,
Pamela Durazo took over, having multiple kills and 4 service aces. With that effort, the owls took the first set of the match 25-19.
In the second set, the Owls followed the lead of
Ivi Marcolino, who had 4 kills to drive the Owls early in the set. Despite a mid-set effort by the Pride, the Owls continued to pull with the help of
Ivi Marcolino, who finished the set with 7 kills, which helped the Owls win the set 20-25.
In the 3
rd in final set of the final match, the Owls really pulled away with Luciana Pavia Pereira recording 5 kills and Cecelia Campos recording two service aces in a row. In a set that saw the Owls go on a 10-0 run, which ended the match with a win over Clarke, 25-11.
The Owls are back in action on Tuesday as they host the Culver-Stockton Wildcats in Anderson Arena at 7 p.m.
