FULTON, Mo.- William Woods women's wrestling took home a win in a solo contest against fellow Heart of America Athletic Conference opponent Graceland University. The Owls, only winning two matches on the mat, took a 23-11 win in the contest.
Both teams left weight classes open up and down the lineup, with only two true matches getting underway inside Anderson Arena. Freshman Candace Calvert opened the contest with a win by decision, going the distance with the Yellow Jacket's grappler.
Teani Medeiros-Maielua continued her utter dominance on the mat, putting on a show for an electrified home crowd. The standout grappler from Hawaii pinned her opponent in 13 seconds, illustrating why she is the #9 wrestler in the 138-pound weight class.
The Owls return to the mat next week when they host William Penn inside Anderson Arena.
