COLUMBIA, Mo.— In their last tournaments of the fall, Owls golf closed out the season with a split-squad two-day tournament slate.
Woods women's team earned a second-place finish at the Columbia College Cougar Fall Invite. Leading the pack was Josie Arms who ended the tournament in a deadlock for first place. Arms eventually bogeyed her first hole of the tournament on the tie breaking hole. Kylie Miller earned another top ten placing for the Owls with Jazmin Usandizaga (T-16), Morgan Crist (28), and Addison Hentz (40) closing out the roster. Woods fell just short of leader Mount Mercy and eclipsed both NCAA DII Truman State and Columbia College; both within seven strokes.
On the men's side, Victor Vella carried another impressive outing to a third-place finish. Behind him, Esteban Ramonet (T-11), Alfred Goransson (T-13), Tom Kolter (T-21), and Euan Hardie (T-27) rounded out the WWU 'A' Team. The squad earned a second-place overall finish, shooting eight over on the windy two-day event. The Owls 'B' team finished in seventh place but were paced by the third-place individual finisher in Jackson Tait who finished even for the tournament.
Closing out the split-squad, the WWU Owls 'C' and 'D' teams, along with a slew of individual entries hosted at the WWU Eagle Knoll Invitational. Tyron Keylock featured the best finish of the tournament for the Owls, earning a second-place finish with a two-under tournament score. Santino Doglioli and Vilmer Jonsson were not far behind with Alvaro Ruiz Lopez and Leland Nardy each placing within the top ten rankings. As a team WWU 'C' fell just behind MidAmerica Nazarene, who's top player won the individual title.
