FAYETTE, Mo.- The William Woods University track and field programs showed out this weekend at the Central Methodist University Invitational hosted on the campus of CMU. The Owls boasted several podium finishes as well as a slew of new WWU Record Book marks. 

Junior runner Blaine Brodersen continued to impress in his events as he a 4:00.22 second time in the 1500m, good enough for third all time in the WWU Record Books and second place at the meet.  

In the women's 3k, Crystal Ruden tabbed a time of 10:46.83 for a first-place finish in the longest event of the meet. This time is also a new fourth place finish in the WWU Record Books.  

In field events, sophomore Isaiah Craighead turned heads with his 57.91m javelin throw that landed him on the top of the podium and in second place in the WWU Record Books. 

Sarah Backes found herself in second place in the women's high jump with a bounce of 1.52m. The jumper from St. Elizabeth, Mo., has had a stellar first year with the program.  

The Owls return next weekend at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
