(ST. LOUIS, Mo., Oct. 26)-- The William Woods University women's soccer team defeated American Midwest Conference rival Missouri Baptist University Tuesday night. The Owls defeated the Spartans 3-0.
The Owls took a 1-0 lead into halftime. WWU added two goals in the second half and recorded its sixth shutout of the season.
Junior
Anne Weaver (St. Charles, Mo.) scored two goals in the WWU victory. Weaver now has seven goals on the year. Sophomore
Brittany Graue (St. Louis, Mo.) was credited with an assist on one of the goals.
Freshman
Kristen Schildz (St. Louis, Mo.) also scored in the win. Weaver was credited with the assist. Schildz now has three goals this season.
Sophomore
Anna Hatfield (Desoto, Ill.) recorded a shutout in the victory. Hatfield had nine saves for William Woods.
William Woods improves to 7-8-2 on the season and 4-5-1 in the AMC. The Owls will return to action on November 5. The will compete in the quarterfinals of the AMC postseason tournament. The official brackets have yet to be released.
