(ST. LOUIS, Mo., Sept. 28)--The William Woods University volleyball team lost an American Midwest Conference match at Missouri Baptist University on Tuesday. The Owls lost to the Spartans 3-1 (26-24, 22-25, 19-25 and 18-25).
Junior
Lauren Fleming (Granbury, Texas) led the Owls with 13 kills. Sophomore
Amanda Henley (Jefferson City, Mo.) recorded a team-high 21 digs in the loss for WWU. Freshman
Sarah Wehmeyer (Carrollton, Texas) led William Woods with 21 assists. Sophomore
Emily Nolte (Higginsville, Mo.) added 17 assists for the Owls. Senior
Brianna Rodriguez (Camdenton, Mo.) and junior
Nicole Mannino (St. Charles, Mo.) recorded two service aces in the loss.
William Woods falls to 9-8 overall, 3-3 in the AMC. They will return to action on September 30 at Columbia College. The match will begin at 7 pm.
