Victory Gives Owls 15 Wins

Baker Leads Owls With 15 Points
(ST. LOUIS, Mo., Jan. 8)--The 13th-ranked William Woods University women's basketball team defeated American Midwest Conference rival Harris-Stowe State University 86-49 in St. Louis, Mo., on Saturday. The Owls improve to 15-1 overall and 2-0 in the AMC.

WWU was led in scoring by Rachel Baker (Mexico, Mo.) with 15 points. Baker added five rebounds and two assists in the win. Jestine Gerber (Jefferson City, Mo.) added 11 points in the WWU victory.

Daris King (Cairo, Mo.) led the Owls with eight rebounds. WWU outrebounded the Hornets 46-39.

William Woods shot 42.6% from the field in the win. The Hornets shot 36.2% from the field in the loss.

WWU will return to action on January 13. The Owls host Hannibal-LaGrange University in another AMC game at 5:30 pm in Anderson Arena.
