The William Woods University volleyball team defeated visiting Benedictine University-Springfield on Wednesday night.  The Owls defeated the Bulldogs 3-0 to improve to 13-16 on the season and 6-6 in the American Midwest Conference.
 
The Owls won 25-17, 25-18 and 25-18.  With the win, William Woods sweeps the two-match series with the Bulldogs.
 
Morgan Bauer (Bloomer, Wis.) led the Owls with eight kills in the AMC victory.  Alicia Green (Midlothian, Texas) added seven kills and four blocks for the Owls.  Sarah Wehmeyer (Carrollton, Texas) led the WWU offense with 20 assists.  Emily Nolte (Higginsville, Mo.) recorded 15 digs for the Owls.  Amanda Henley (Jefferson City, Mo.) added 12 digs in the win.
 
The Owls return to action October 20.  They host an AMC match against Park University.  First-serve is scheduled for 7 pm in Anderson Arena.
