Owls Travel To Harris-Stowe Looking To End Four-Game Skid

Hoskins is averaging 14.2 points over his last six games.
FULTON, Mo. -- The William Woods University men's basketball team travels to St. Louis looking to end a four-game losing streak as they face Harris-Stowe State University. Tipoff for this American Midwest Conference tilt is scheduled for approximately 4 p.m.

The Owls are coming off a heartbreaking 63-62 loss to Benedictine University at Springfield. BenU Springfield would hit a layup with seven seconds remaining to take a one point lead and Blake Burgess missed a runner at the buzzer to send William Woods to its fourth straight loss.

After starting the AMC season at 5-0, William Woods (9-13, 5-4 AMC) has suffered four consecutive defeats. The losing streak has seen the Owls go from first place in the conference to a three-way tie for third place with Missouri Baptist and Williams Baptist.

Despite not scoring in double-figures in his last two games, Daniel Armah still leads the Owls in scoring with his 13.8 points per game pace. D.J. Hoskins is second on the team in scoring with 12.5 ppg. The Peoria, Ill. native has come on of late as he is averaging 14.2 points over his last six games, including a 20-point effort in Thursday's loss.

Armah has not slowed his pace on the boards as he is in the midst of a four-game double-digit rebounding streak. The 6-6 forward from Ghana is averaging 10.9 rebounds per game on the year and over his last four games he has grabbed an average of 12.0 caroms. The pace would lead the AMC, but Armah hasn't logged enough games to qualify for any statistical leads.

Harris-Stowe (4-19, 3-5 AMC) is coming off a 79-72 loss at Lyon College. James Kenner's 22-point performance wasn't enough as the Hornets put the Scots at the line 30 times, making 24-of-30 attempts. Just like the Owls, HSSU is riding a four-game losing streak.

Dallis Johnson leads Harris-Stowe in scoring with 15.6 points per game. The average is the second-highest in the AMC. Johnson also leads the conference in rebounding with his 8.6 caroms. Kenner is second in the conference in assists 4.9 assists per game.
