OVERLAND PARK, Kan.- The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced their annual Heart Scholar-Athlete Award winners. William Woods University boasted 108 total athletes on this list, coming from 20 competitive varsity programs.  

The Heart Scholar-Athlete distinction recognizes student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement while competing at the collegiate level. 

To be eligible for recognition, student-athletes must: 

• Participated in at least one varsity contest.  

• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher on a 4.0 scale. 

• Have completed at least 60 credit hours (undergraduate and/or graduate). 

• Have attended the nominating institution for at least two semesters prior to nomination. 

• Have participated in varsity competition in the sport for which they were nominated.
