Softball Team Faces No.4 Williams Baptist In The AMC Final Four.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – After a two-day delay because of rain, the American Midwest Conference softball tournament will resume on Saturday as the William Woods University softball team will face off with top seed Williams Baptist College. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m at Antimi Field.

William Woods (21-14) ended the regular season as the fourth seed, and advanced to Saturday's AMC Final Four by defeating the no.5 seed Hannibal-LaGrange Lady Trojans two games to one in the best of three series.

Becca Schemmer was outstanding in the AMC Quarterfinals, as she pitched in both elimination games for WWU, pitching a no-hitter in game two's 9-0 and held the Lady Trojans scoreless again in Monday's 1-0 game three victory.

Williams Baptist (40-4) won the regular season title by finishing 16-2 in AMC play. The Lady Eagles had no trouble taking care of the no. 8-seeded Harris-Stowe Hornets on Monday, as WBC took both games, 8-0 and 12-0.

These two squads are no stranger to each other, as the Owls and the Lady Eagles wrapped up the AMC regular season by splitting a doubleheader on April 22. William Woods took the first game in extra innings, as Lindsey LeCuru provided the only run of the game with her walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth inning. In game two, the Lady Eagles were victorious against WWU, taking the game 4-2.
