Owls Win Fourth Straight Match Defeating Lyon College 3-1

Bauer has collected doulbe-digit kills in her last five matches.
Box Score BATESVILLE, Ark. -- Kristen Bauer and Emily Becker's double-digit kill performances helps the William Woods University volleyball team extend its winning streak to four games, as they defeat Lyon College 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 25-12, 25-15) on Friday night.

The duo combined for 28 of William Woods' (7-9, 2-0 AMC) 52 kills on the night, as Becker collected a match-high 16 kills, while Bauer extended her double-digit kill streak to five matches with 12.
Lyon College (7-7, 1-2 AMC) was able to rally from a 23-18 deficit in the first set, as they rolled off eight points to take the set 25-23.

The Owls were able to rebound in the second set, as they used a 7-0 run to break an 11-11 tie. That would be all the WWU would need as they were able to tie the match with a 25-18 win.

After being tied at 6-6 in the third set, William Woods ripped off 12 straight points to take a commanding 18-6 lead. The Owls would cruise to a 25-12 win in the third set giving them the 2-1 set lead in the match.

WWU used an 11-1 run to break a 14-14 tie in the fourth set, giving the Owls the 25-15 win and the 3-1 match victory.
Abbie O'Mara had another stellar game for the Owls defensively, as the junior libero collected 34 digs on the night. As a team, William Woods collected an impressive 98 digs.

Sarah Stevenson tallied 49 assists on the night to go along with 14 digs to give the freshman another double-double on the year.

William Woods will return to action tomorrow afternoon, as they travel Williams Baptist College. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
